Dear Parents: Sawyer and surrounding areas are currently in a blizzard warning for tonight and tomorrow. Recent forecast models indicate the worst weather will be south and east of the Minot/Sawyer areas. As a precaution, I have asked teachers to send virtual learning materials / instructions home and to remind students to take their assigned iPad/Chromebook and charger home. This does not mean that school is canceled for tomorrow. We will monitor weather and road conditions throughout the night and make a final determination by 6:00 am tomorrow morning and an alert message will be sent. If school is in session tomorrow, please send any learning packets or materials and technology back to school with your student. Thank you!

Additionally, we want to assure you that the safety of our students is our top priority. We are constantly reviewing our security measures to ensure that we are doing everything we can to protect our students and staff. We also urge everyone to speak up if they see or hear anything that could represent a potential threat to school safety. It is important to remind everyone of the safety rules in our school. No one will be permitted into the school building during regular school hours unless admitted through the front doors of our building. Once admitted, a staff member will provide you with a visitor badge and will escort you to where you need to be. Throughout this week, our focus will be on the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of our students. Please join us in keeping the Nashville community in our thoughts at this time. Thank you for your support. Heather Ell Principal

Dear Families, We continue to be deeply shocked and saddened by the events that occurred yesteray at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. As our students left school yesterday, it’s very possible that they learned about the shooting. Please know that, if your child has questions or concerns, our counselors are ready to assist. We encourage students to speak with a counselor or another trusted adult if they need any help processing the news.

Due to extreme weather conditions.... Rather than cancelling, we have decided to have The Beauty and the Beast Jr. program today at 12:30. Families are invited to attend the live performance if they can. We realize the short notice but wanted to include everyone in the invitation. There will also be a recording of the program sent to parents of the performers, so if you cannot be here, you will still have the opportunity to watch it. The program will be recorded and shared with families of the performers. Under NO circumstances can this video be posted on the internet. Please do not record the live program as we will have one recording done by the school that will be shared with parents. This is part of the copyright agreement we have with Disney. Thank you for being SO flexible.
