Mr. Stockie here with a few important activities updates:
Physicals: Students must have an up-to-date physical on file with both Sawyer and Nedrose before participating.
5th/6th Grade Girls Basketball: We’re excited to share that Nedrose will be hosting our 5/6 girls this fall! Practices began yesterday, August 18th, 3:00pm at Nedrose High School. (Start time will be later once school starts.)
JH & Varsity Volleyball: Volleyball season is underway! A few students have already connected with Nedrose coaches. If any other girls in grades 7–12 are interested, please reach out to Nedrose to get started.
Transportation: After-school transportation to Nedrose for activities will begin tomorrow. Families are responsible for arranging pickup after practices and games, as well as on weekends and holidays.
Activities Fees: New this year- fees must be paid (or arrangements made) before students can continue participating in Sawyer activities. Forms will be sent home during the first week of school and before each upcoming activity.

Good afternoon Flashes! Junior high girls volleyball practice begins on Monday, August 18th from 3:30 to 5:00 @ Nedrose. Parents/guardians will be responsible to get their athletes to practice on Monday and Tuesday of next week. School transportation will begin as soon as school starts on Wednesday, August 20.
Good afternoon Flashes! Just a reminder that Girls grades 9-12 volleyball meeting @ Nedrose High School will be on Tuesday, August 12th at 6 pm. Junior high girls volleyball practice begins on Monday, August 18th from 3:30 to 5:00 @ Nedrose. All athletes need to have a physical BEFORE they will be allowed to practice. Please turn a copy in at the Sawyer office and also take a copy to Nedrose. See you all soon!
If you signed up to attend the Wild Science Summer Camp, camp will begin on Monday, July 21 and ends on Thursday, July 24. Camp is from 9 am to 2 pm daily. Have a great week Flashes! See you all soon!

There is a lot of information in the packets, be sure to look thru them carefully and sign/fill out all forms and return them to the school as soon as you can. Also, fall sports are just around the corner. If you are planning on participating in boys/girls golf or girls high school volleyball, please get your sports physical soon! Good afternoon Flashes! We hope you are having a great start to summer! We want to remind you that you still have time to return the Summer Camp registration forms to the school! These forms were sent home (with students who will be entering grades 1-6 next fall) the last couple days of school. You may want to check backpacks!:)
Good afternoon Flashes! If your student was in an extra curricular activity, they were sent home with an invitation for our Awards Banquet on Friday, May 16 at 5:30. All students who participated and their parents/guardians will be admitted free to the banquet. All additional guests will need a ticket. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the office are $5 each, tickets will be $10 each at the door. If you have not pre registered, using the QR code on the invite, please do so as soon as possible, as we would like to get a head count as accurate as possible for the meal. Booster Bingo will be held at Sawyer School on Friday, May 2nd, starting at 7:00!
Good afternoon Flashes! if you have a student in grades 3-8 or grade 10, they were sent home today with information regarding state assessments. Your student will be be doing testing this week. The information sent home will help you to understand how important these assessment are to your school/students. Also, no cooking tonight! Head to Slim Chickens between 5-7 pm to support the Sawyer Shooting Sports Team! Don't forget to round up your family and friends and join us for Booster Bingo at the school! Doors open at 6:00 pm and Bingo starts at 7:00 pm. Frito pie, hot dogs and chili dogs will be served, There will also be a variety of baked goodies! We hope to see you there for a community fun night!
Hey Flashes! Make supper easy tomorrow night and help support our Sawyer Shooting Sports Team at Slim Chickens!
Happy Friday Flashes! We have a few things going on next week that we want to remind you about. Tuesday, April 29 is Donuts with Grown Ups from 8:00 to 8:20 in the cafeteria, also that evening from 5:00 to 7:00 our Shooting Sports Team has a fundraiser at Slim Chickens! All you need to do is mention Sawyer Shooting Sports when ordering and Slim Chickens will donate 50% of your total to the team! Friday, May 2 is BOOSTER BINGO at 7:00, doors open at 6:00. Bring your family out for a fun night! Also, if you have not returned the bright yellow form regarding the 2025-26 school year, please return them by Wednesday of next week! Dear Parent or Guardian, We are excited that Summer EBT will be available to eligible families in ND this summer. The benefit is $120 per eligible school-aged child. Your child will automatically receive benefits and will not need to apply if you were already approved for Free or Reduced price meals. If your family does not meet automatic eligibility, you can check eligibility or apply online at https://ndsummerebt.nd.gov/. Also, our pre-school/kindergarten screening is at the school on Friday, April 4th starting at 9:30. If you, friends/neighbors or family in the area have a child who will be 4 years old by August 1, they are old enough to attend Pre K!
